MK Energy + Infrastructure (MK E+I) was established by The Michael Kenwood Group in June 2009 to develop business opportunities in proprietary infrastructure assets, advanced stage clean energy technology, and late stage development and operating renewable energy projects and infrastructure, both in OECD countries and in emerging markets.
To attain its objective, MK E+I has assembled a dedicated team of highly qualified investment and operational professionals with extensive experience in our target sectors.
MK E+I’s competitive advantage stems from proprietary deal sourcing through The Michael Kenwood Group’s network, as well as the specialized knowledge and accumulated years of industry experience of our seasoned team. This places MK E+I in a unique position to target, acquire and manage energy and infrastructure assets.
The two key areas we focus on are:
- Emerging markets, due to their expected higher growth rates and infrastructure needs. MK E+I will focus on electricity power assets, as well as airports and ports.
- OECD economies, where clean and sustainable energy is a key priority.
Our ability to carefully vet out profitable projects will also be a product of the following:
- Ability to step into multiple regulatory frameworks and asset classes
- Industry and local know how and network needed to assess target assets, size them, buy them and run them
- Competence to negotiate the right entry price and understand the right time to sell
- Ability to implement a reporting and governance structure that provides MK E+I with appropriate control and oversight to support the investment and drive needed change
